Abstract

During the professional activity, the whole oral cavity may be the target of either direct or indirect traumas, or aggressions attributable to physical agents. It constitutes also a way for dust or chemical substance penetration into the organism, which may result in the occurrence of either local isolated signs, or a more general semiology reversible by adequate therapy, or a prognosis of cancer. The importance of clinical examination for lesion screening is emphasized. Health education, improvement of the working conditions, and personal protective equipment may contribute in reducing occupational risks.
