Abstract

Most countries' national industrial associations publish trends and forecasts based upon a poll of their members' opinions. People frequently wonder whether they mean much, and whether, indeed, their publication may influence the very events they are supposed to have forecast. This article shows that experience and forecasting quality vary from country to country. © 1986 Europian Managemrnt Journal.
