Abstract

This article presents a new boundary integral formulation for well modelling in a 3D stratified petroleum reservoir with arbitrary geometry. A Green's function is used in each reservoir layer, which is considered homogeneous but anisotropic. The real well geometry is considered. A Galerkin method is applied to discretize the integral equations, and the integrals on the well have been reduced to 1D integrals. Some numerical examples are presented to show the efficiency of our method. © 2003 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.
