Abstract

The patient, a 25-year-old male, complained of unbearable pain in the tip of his penis while thrusting and ejaculating during intercourse with his wife. A behavioral analysis indicated that attention was the important mediating factor which led to anticipatory anxiety and the sensation of pain. A retraining program along the dimension of increasing attention to penile sensations was carried out successfully by the wife under supervision. © 1973 Academic Press, Inc.
