Abstract

A unique neovibsane-type diterpene, neovibsanin C (1), isolated from the leaves of Viburnum awabuki, has been demonstrated to have an unprecedented structure macrocyclized via an endo-peroxide by extensive analyses of spectral data and chemical degradation as well as synthesis of I from neovibsanin B (3).
