Abstract

We discuss several assumptions on the heavy quark axial vector matrix elements of the proton. We emphasize the role of the axial vector isoscalar neutral current induced by the axial-vector-current anomaly. Then we re-evaluate the standard model predictions for nuclear spin-dependent parity violating effects in light atoms taking into account the EMC results and the theoretical prediction of the quark spin content of the proton. © 1990.
