Abstract

A modified Poisson-Boltzmann equation in the diffuse part of the electric double layer is solved using a quasi-linearisation technique. A damped oscillatory behaviour is demonstrated in the mean electrostatic potential and in the ion-wall distribution functions for a fixed wall potential at relatively high electrolyte concentrations. © 1979.
