Abstract

A new Al-Co(Cu) cubic phase has been observed to coexist with the decagonal Al-Co-Cu phase in Al65Co15Cu20 alloy. A well-defined orientation relationship is present between the two phases. Partial lattice and atomic match between the two phases, which are a result of the orientation relationship, is presented and discussed.
