Abstract

We quantify the impacts of journal governance (for-profit status, society affiliation, and publisher), quality (impact factor and citations), and costs on the institutional subscription prices of the core economics journals. Empirical results show that quality has a much smaller influence. © 2011 Elsevier B.V.
