Abstract

The aim of this paper is to introduce the fundamental ideas of programming, and to show why programming languages are necessary. Various levels of language will be considered and the implmentation of one of them on different microprocessor systems will be discussed. Finally the different stages in software development will be described together with the nature of operating systems. © 1981.
