Abstract

A relation between the formulations of the boundary element method (BEM) based on boundary integral equations (BIEs) and the method of weighted errors (MWE) [1, 2] and the variational formulations [3-11] is established, which can be used not only to solve problems in the theory of elasticity but also other problems of mathematical physics.
