The diffusion coefficient of long rigid molecules in solids containing one-dimensional regular succession of channels and cavities has a quasi-periodic dependence on the ratio of the length of the molecule to the length of the repeating structural unit of the solid. Maxima in the diffusion coefficient result when the ratio is an integer and minima when it is a half integer. © 1976.
