Abstract

An empirical correlation of the Angstrom type for estimating monthly mean daily total solar radiation on a horizontal surface in eastern Spain has been developed. Measurements of the global solar radiation on seven locations in the region are used to obtain the regression coefficients of the Angstrom formula. Using this equation estimations of the monthly global radiation are performed for two locations in eastern Spain. The agreement between the measured and the estimated values is remarkable and the correlation is recommended for use in any location in eastern Spain. © 1992.
