Abstract

It is demonstrated that an exact solution exists for the isotopic analysis of lead using a double spike, and that the iterative procedure given by Compston and Oversby (1969) is therefore unnecessary. It is shown also that blank errors can falsify this technique11 Since initial acceptance of this paper for publication I have become aware of a completely independent solution to this problem due to Dr. M.J. Dallwitz.. © 1970.
