Abstract

An introduction in processing signals and the estimation of signals or signal parameters in the presence of noise is given. The required characterization of signals and noise, both in the time domain and in the frequency domain, is discussed; the terminology is clarified. In this part, time invariant filtering and (orthogonal) polynomial approximation is emphasized. © 1990.
