Abstract

The collisional Fokker-Planck equation combined with an externally imposed quasilinear rf-diffusion is solved for energetic electrons under conditions of detailed balance. The detailed balance condition restricts the functional form of the quasilinear diffusion coefficient. This restriction is tightly related to the simultaneous flattening and broadening of the distribution function in the directions parallel and perpendicular to the magnetic field respectively. © 1985.
