Abstract

The reaction between dimethyl acetylenedicarboxylate and various aryl aldehydes in the presence of triphenylphosphine leads to unsaturated γ-butyrolactone derivatives and highly substituted enones in fairly good yields at room temperature. © 2010 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.
