Abstract

The more affluent nations of the world are cognizant of the long-term consequences of tropical deforestation but have presented few alternatives to those who are causing this destruction. This article presents a plan for replanting trees which can be used by many poor people in tropical areas of the world to increase their income. A specific example of how this plan could be implemented in northern India is presented. © 1989.
