The nonrigid molecular symmetry group (supergroup) for propane and three deuterated derivatives is used as an aid in making vibrational assignments. Higher energy vibrations retain the symmetry-induced degeneracies of the supergroup, while lower energy vibrations must be classified according to the point group symmetry. © 1975.
