Abstract

Vitamin E content was investigated during seedling development of Picea abies, Zea mays and Phaseolus aureus. While α-tocopherol was found in all organs, β- and γ-tocopherol and α-tocotrienol appeared depending on species and state of development. The pattern of components was correlated with the physiological facts as related to differences between germination of gymnosperms and angiosperms. © 1991.
