Abstract

Viscosity coefficients of indium, cadmium and 11 Cd-In liquid alloys distributed over the whole range of concentration were measured as a function of temperature using the oscillating cup method. The specific gravity values used for the determination of the viscosity coefficients were those determined previously. The viscosity isotherms obtained show an important negative deviation from a linear law. The maximum of this effect (approximately 40%) was obtained for xIn = 0.40. The temperature range covered allowed the evaluation, with sufficient accuracy, of the evolution of the viscous flow activation energy with concentration. © 1981.
