    KFSH-D’s ambitious plan to Establish Centers of Excellence in Transplantation was a great motivation for Dr. Housawi to join the Multi-organ Transplant Center Establishing Team. This has provided an opportunity to integrate clinical and research experience with the fascinating challenge of developing a new Transplant Center in the Eastern Province of Saudi Arabia. Education and Professional Standing Dr. Housawi qualified in 1997 from King Abdul Aziz University, Saudi Arabia. He trained in Internal Medicine at the University of Saskatchewan (USASK); then in Nephrology and Kidney Transplantation at the University of Western Ontario (UWO), London Health Sciences Center (LHSC). He joined the faculty at Umm Al-Qura University in 2006 as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Medicine. In 2008, he joined King Fahad Specialist Hospital, Dammam (KFSH-D) where he participated in Multi-organ Transplant Center (MOTC) establishing team. Currently, he is the Interim Chairman of the Kidney-Pancreas Transplant Department at KFSH-D. In addition, he is leading the project for establishing MOTC Registry and Information System at KFSH-D.
