About

Aimilia S. Gastounioti was born in Athens, Greece, in 1986. In 2004, she was the recipient of the “Τοuramanoglou” award for having the highest grade in final exams among all students in the 2nd Lyceum of Ilioupolis. In the same year, she was also awarded by E. F.G. Εurobank for her excellent performance in the University Entrance exams. In 2009, she obtained her Diploma in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA) and she joined the Biomedical Simulations and Imaging Laboratory of NTUA, where she is currently working towards her Ph.D. During her Ph.D. studies she has received scholarships from the Hellenic State Scholarships Foundation (2010-today) and the ICCS-Institute of Computer and Communication Systems (2010). Her research interests include biomedical signal and image processing and analysis, biomedical informatics, and computer-aided diagnosis systems. Aimilia has authored/co-authored 5 papers in scientific journals and international conferences. Since 2009, Aimilia is a lab assistant in the Biomedical Simulations and Imaging Laboratory. She has served as a scientific reviewer in international conferences (DSP, MIC-CSP, MIC-CCA) and she is a member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), the Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society (EMBS) and the Technical Chamber of Greece.
