Aina Obis is a PhD candidate in Translation and Language Sciences at Universitat Pompeu Fabra (Barcelona). She has a degree in Translation and Interpreting (2012) and a Master’s degree in Theoretical and Applied Linguistics (2013), with specialization in language teaching and learning. Her research interests comprise not only the field of translation, but also language learning processes, specially metacognitive learning skills and students' metalinguistic reflection of specific pragmatic mechanisms. Her dissertation takes on the learning of discourse markers in higher education.
