About

Graduated in 2007 in “Economy and Management of Networks and Innovations” at the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia (Italy) with first class honors (cum laude), I have a PhD in “Multiscale Modeling, Computational Simulation and Characterization in Material and Life Sciences” obtained at the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia, in 2011. In 2009 I was awarded best student poster prize receiving an honorable mention (it is definitely not too much but each career starts with the first step) at ECCS09 (European Conference on Complex Systems), in 2010 I won the first prize at the “Best paper awards” at ECCS10 and in 2013 I was awarded the best paper at the European Conference on Artificial Life. In 2007 I obtained a research fellowship at the ECLT where I have worked for 4 years. From 2011 to 2013 I was a postdoc at the University of Bologna at the Interdepartmental Centre of Industrial Research and the I have been an associate researcher at ECLT for other two years. Currently I work at Explora Biotech Srl as senior scientist and IT manager. My research interests concern the analysis and the characterization of self-organizing behaviors in natural (especially biological) and artificial systems (currently biotechnological systems). My research ranges from protocell models and emergence of autocatalytic sets of molecules, detection of relevant dynamical subsets in complex systems to characterization of gene expression in bacteria. Since the PhD in 2011 he has published more than 30 publications between international journals and peer-reviewed conference proceedings.
