Professor and researcher, he obtained a Master Degree cum laude in Building Engineering (University of Messina, Italy) and a PhD in Building Engineering: Restoration Design (Department of Drawing and Design, Faculty of Engineering, University of Messina, Italy). Since 2008, he is in charge of the ICAR/17 scientific sector and adjunct professor at the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Bergamo where he teaches courses in “drawing” (12 credits - I and II semester - first year Degree) and “architectural survey” (6 credits - I Semester – forth year degree). He is also director of the laboratory Lab_S.ABE (Survey & Analysis of Buildings and Environment), recently established at the University of Bergamo. He is the responsible of the TEST CAD - AICA CENTER for the city and the province of Bergamo, as well as the coordinator and manager of the courses organized by the Faculty of Engineering on the following software: Autodesk Autocad, Autodesk Revit, Rhino and Catia.
His main research activities are focused on issues concerning the scientific Sector ICAR/17 deepening, in particular, on aspects related to the use of advanced survey techniques (digital photogrammetry and laser scanning), the return and 3D modeling for architecture and cultural heritage. In particular, he coordinated a series of experimental activities, in the framework of a research agreement "3D-Laser-Scanning for Architecture & Civil Engineering" between Bergamo University and FARO EUROPE GmbH & Co. In 2012, he distinguished himself for his research and for this reason was awarded by the University of Bergamo. His main research interests are based on the assessment of the capabilities of laser scanning technologies with special regard to cultural heritage survey, structural testing and diagnostic, 3D visualization and virtual reality.
