For close to a decade, periodontist Dr. Alex Bankhead served as a clinical instructor and lecturer for Practical Clinical Courses (PCC) in Provo, Utah. Through firsthand surgical demonstrations, Dr. Alex Bankhead, taught dentists from around the globe advanced methods in periodontics and dental implant procedures. In collaboration with PCC founder Dr. Gordon Christensen, he also produced a video series that guides viewers through the latest surgical techniques for treating periodontal disease and placing dental implants.
Besides instructing courses for PCC, Dr. Bankhead has taught dental professional development programs for Learning Curves, LLC., Carestream Dental, and Nobel Biocare. As a clinical evaluator for Clinical Research Associates, he helped assess the effectiveness and safety of several periodontal and implant technologies before they were approved for use by dental practitioners.
Since 1997, Dr. Alex Bankhead has operated the private practice Utah Valley Periodontics and Dental Implants in Orem. Providing patients with reconstructive and aesthetic dental services, he has completed more than 10,000 dental implants since establishing his office. Additional service offerings include connective tissue grafts and gingival recontouring.
Dr. Bankhead possesses a doctor of dental surgery from the Creighton University School of Dentistry and a master’s degree with a certificate of specialization in periodontics from the University of Nebraska. Along with maintaining membership in organizations such as the American Academy of Periodontology and the Pierre Fauchard Academy, he is a cofounder of the Pinnacle Dental Study Club in Provo, Utah.
