I am an experienced academic and management professional specialising in Sustainable Development; Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), Project Management, Business Ethics, Environmental Management, Environmental Assessment Methods and Social and Environmental Strategies. I have worked in private and public sector management positions across a diverse range of sectors including retail and local government. I am currently Senior Lecturer in Business Ethics teaching on a number of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in addition to supervising doctoral students. My teaching specialisms include Sustainable Development in Project Management, Sustainable Business, Leadership, Corporate Social Responsibility, Corporate Governance and Business Ethics. My research interests cut across these topics too, but also include energy policy, and sustainability assessment. I am currently working on projects examining the link between corporate values, mission and ethics at an organisational level, and how (if) these are translated through to a project and operational level. My research outputs to date have been judged to be of internationally excellent quality and have been submitted to the UK Research Excellent Framework (REF) review 2014. In addition to my academic writing, I contribute to a number of high quality blogs such as the London School of Economics Impact of Social Sciences blog, the Guardian Higher Education blog, the Thesis Whisperer and my own blog Dr Sustainable. Alongside my academic work, I am the founder of One Planet Management, an ethical and sustainable business consultancy specialising in aligning the principles of Sustainable Development, Corporate Social Responsibility and Business Ethics with business and project management. I am also highly experienced in green and sustainable building methods and renewable energy systems and a qualified BREEAM and Code for Sustainable Homes assessor.
