After completing my degree I trained as a Special Needs tutor within Post Compulsory Education and spent 3 years working within this field in London and Yorkshire. I then moved to Adult and Continuing Education with the Huddersfield area working mainly within the Outreach provision and being involved in new developments within the Skills for Life field. Since joining the University of Huddersfield in 2002 I have been involved in curriculum developments within Skills for Life teacher education and research into mathematics learning. I completed an MSc in Multimedia and Education in 2001 and am currently undertaking my Ed D looking at informal learning within medieval re-enactment.
