About

After BTech in Metallurgical Engg from IIT Bombay, India, I worked with Academy of Development Science, a grassroots-level NGO engaged in watershed restoration in the Western Ghats, India. Followed up with an MS in environmental science from Indiana Univ, Bloomington, IN, USA. Worked as a database programmer with Morningstar, Chicago, and then as web programmer at Harvard U, Cambridge. Volunteered with New England Aquarium, Boston MA, and studying soil water relationships at Parque nacional Iguazu, Argentina. Did my PhD in biology at the University of Miami researching ecohydrology in the Everglades National park and in the cerrado savannas of central Brazil. Currently working with the Florida Coastal Ecosystems LTER project on hydrological analysis (water budgets, residence times), as the coordinator for an ecological monitoring program in the Everglades National Park looking at the effects of changes in hydrology and led a study using RFID technology to monitor fine scale fish habitat selection and movements along with seasonal hydrology at Loxahatchee Experimental Wetland, Florida. I am also currently associated with the Global Water and Sustainability program, involved in capacity building (training and program development) for water resource management in Tanzania.
