Ana Loureiro is a Professor at Department of Educative Technologies - School of Education, Polytechnic Institute of Santarém (Portugal). She is a Researcher at Research Centre Didactics and Technology in Teacher Education (CIDTFF), University of Aveiro (Portugal) - Research field: Education, Teaching / Learning and Society; and a Member of the Investigation Unit of the Polytechnic Institute of Santarém (UIIPS) - Research field: Distance Education. She is also a Member of the research european network TELeurope. Ana Loureiro holds a PhD in Communication Sciences and Technologies (University of Aveiro); received her public evidence for the status of Expert in Education and Multimedia Communication in 2011; her Master degree in Multimedia in Education in 2006 (University of Aveiro), her Post-Graduation in Information Management in 2001 (University of Aveiro) and her Graduation in New Technologies of Communication in 1998 (University of Aveiro). Her research fields are connected with e-learning and Technology Enhanced Learning (TEL), more specifically with the use of 3D virtual immersive worlds and web 2.0 tools for collaborative, cooperative and social learning (with an impact in lifelong learning process); e-skills/ digital and information literacy.
