Prof. Anastasios A. Economides is Full Professor on Computer Networks and Telematic Applications at the University of Macedonia (UoM,, Thessaloniki, Greece. He received the Ph.D. degree in computer engineering from the University of Southern California, Los Angeles. He is the director of SMILE (Smart Mobile Interactive Learning Environments, lab and CONTA (COmputer Networks and Telematic Applications - group. His research interests include user experience and acceptance of smart systems and services, networking protocols, techno-economics and competition, personalized learning and assessment. He has published over 250 peer-reviewed papers and has received over 4500 citations. He has been the Chairman (2008-2014) and Vice-Chairman (2000-2006) of the Information Systems Postgraduate Program at UoM. He has been a Visiting Professor at several Universities (e.g. Univ. of Southern California, Univ. Oberta de Catalunya, Univ. Pompe Fabra). He has been the plenary speaker in International Conferences, has served on the editorial board of several International Journals, on the program committee of many International Conferences, and as a reviewer for many International Journals and Conferences.
