Andrea Romigi was a consultant neurologist at the Neurology Unit of University of Rome Tor Vergata and the San Giovanni General Hospital in Rome. He is Senior Research Fellow in the University of Tor Vergata with Prof. D. Centonze and leads a Sleep Medicine lab at IRCCS Neuromed in Pozzilli (IS), Italy. Dr. Romigi has long-lasting expertise in clinical neurophysiology regarding sleep and epilepsy, pharmacoEEG, and neuromuscular disorders (Myotonic Dystrophies, Postpolio syndrome, etc.). The main techniques are quantitative EEG and analysis of sleep microstructure (cyclic alternating pattern, spindle density, and slow oscillation) and their correlations with CSF markers. The main goals of his research are to understand the interactions between sleep and neurological disorders and the effects of drugs (including antiepileptic drugs) on sleep architecture. He is the author of more 120 peer-reviewed publications and some book chapters.
