About

My primary research interest is the implementation of school-based prevention and promotion interventions, with a particular focus on mental health and social and emotional learning. Collaborative research projects have included the national evaluation of the Secondary Social and Emotional Aspects of Learning (SEAL) programme, and the evaluation of the small group-work component of the Primary SEAL programme, both for the Department for Education. I have recently directed the implementation strand of the evaluation of the Promoting Alternative Thinking Strategies (PATHS) programme in English primary schools, funded by the National Institute for Health Research. Current projects include an evaluation of the Good Behaviour Game, and a feasibility study of the Second Step programme, both in primary schools in England.
