About

Dr Antonis Michalas received his PhD in Network Security from Aalborg University, Denmark and currently work as an assistant professor in Cyber Security at the University of Westminster, London. As a assistant professor, he teaches both undergraduate and postgraduate courses related to cryptography, forensics, cyber security and network security. Antonis’ role expands to student supervision and research group coordination. In parallel, he is an active member of the department’s project development and research activities. In addition to that, he leads the cyber security research group (CSec) at the University of Westminster. As the head of CSec, he leads research projects focused on network security and applied cryptography. The group comprises PhD students, professors and researchers and mainly focuses on applied research in security and privacy of widely deployed communication networks. Prior to that, Antonis was working as a postdoctoral researcher at the Security Lab of the Swedish Institute of Computer Science (SICS) in Stockholm, Sweden. As a postdoctoral researcher at the SEC Lab he was actively involved in national and European research projects and combined research with student supervision and project management.
