Production and characterization of composites (polymers/GBMs). Study of interaction between GBMs and composites (polymers/GBMs) with biological components. Current research interests Production and characterization of GBMs (i.e. graphene oxide, graphene nanoplatelets) and study of the effect of oxidation and surface coating with polymers on physical-chemical properties, dispersion in solvents, interaction with polymer matrices. Study of biological effects of these materials and potential uses in biomedicine. Production of polymeric composite materials (PLA, PCL, PVAc, PUR, pHEMA, silicone rubber) with incorporation of GBMs by solvent mixing or melt-blending. Characterization of their physical-chemical properties (DMA, DSC, TGA, SEM, AFM, TEM, XRD, XPS, Raman Spectroscopy, FTIR, goniometry), study of their biodegradation (GPC-SEC), biocompatibility (MTT, resazurin, LIVE/DEAD, immunocytochemistry) and antibacterial properties. Magnetic targeting of particles for biomedical applications. Study for new platforms for phototherapy. Other competences Academic formation in Molecular Therapy, Toxicogenomics and Immunology.
