Brief biography Dr. Attila Grandpierre is an astrophysicist, physicist, candidate of physical sciences (1984), Senior Research Scientist of the Konkoly Observatory of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences. He has been the main organizer and the Co-chair of the International Scientific Organizing Committee of the conference “Astronomy and Civilization”, http://www.konkoly.hu/AC2009/ . Astrophysics. His pioneering work on the dynamics of the solar core predicting the presence of heat waves within the internal radiative zone is reported in the January 25, 2007 issue of New Scientist, available at www.newscientist.com/article/mg19325884.500-suns-fickle-heart-may-leave-us-cold.html.
