About

Barbara Kaszowska-Wandor is a research fellow at the Institute of Polish Literary Studies (University of Silesia). Her research interests lie in the philosophy of literature. She has written on literary historicism, post-humanism, and the relations between humanistic studies and natural sciences. Her articles have been published in leading Polish journals in the fields of literary theory and history of literature (Second Texts, Literary Memoir, Terminus). She obtained her PhD in literature in 2012 (Jagiellonian University in Kraków), with a dissertation on the concept of the ‘early modern’ in contemporary cultural discourses. In the years 2006–2008, she taught at Ghent University in Belgium. Currently, she is working on the research project Res publica (post)litteraria (2013-2016), which delves into the contemporary semantic transformations of the concepts of literature, reading and literary culture. The project is supported by the National Science Centre (Poland).
