My clinical and research interests centre on trauma care and surgery, in particular lower limb reconstruction. With an extensive and ongoing research portfolio covering basic science and clinical practice, I currently have over 70 publications, 7 book chapters and over 80 presentations, with number awarded prizes. In addition, I continue to collaborate with various university departments and orthopaedic companies As the injuries and emergencies specialty lead for the Surrey & Sussex CLRN, I have instigating the recruitment to numerous NIHR portfolio studies within the region. I am the lead for research and education at Brighton & Sussex University Hospitals (BSUH) department of trauma and orthopaedic. As an Honorary Senior Clinical Lecturer I have an active role at Brighton & Sussex Medical School, involved in both education and research. In addition, I have developed the first web-based resource for orthopaedic research and education at BSUH My training afforded me a wide breadth of clinical experience incorporating a 2-year fellowship (2010 – 2012) at University of Toronto teaching hospitals, attending Mount Sinai Hospital & Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre. I was the first orthopaedic surgeon to ever be awarded the Zane Cohen Fellowship Award by the University of Toronto I am a reviewer for the following journals: Bone & Joint Journal (formerly JBJS Br), JBJS Am, Journal of Arthroplasty & Clinical Orthopaedics and Related Research (CORR)
