My field of interest is the mechanical properties of the fingertips. The deformation of the finger when grasping objects or during tactile exploration of surface and its consequent sensory responses are of prime importance for understanding how the brain adapts the grip forces when manipulating objects or how the brain can discriminate fine variations of rough textured surfaces.
