I teach at masters and Ph.D. level in Trinity College Dublin: Information Literacy (School of Social Work and Social Policy 1994-present) and palaeography (School of Histories and Humanities, 2013-present). I am also a library and information consultant and I conduct commissioned social research. I am also a partner in McGrath Barrett & Associates, library training consultancy (mcgrathbarrett.ie). I am the foremost authority on early modern Irish towns and parliaments.
