Alina is a Research Forester at the USFS Missoula Fire Science Laboratory. She studies: • post-fire tree mortality • disturbance in alpine treeline ecotones • quantifying fire spatial patterns using remote sensing • post-fire succession in mixed-conifer forests She received her PhD from University of Washington in 2015, and MS from the same institution in 2011. Before that she worked for the National Park Service Fire Effects program, leading crews monitoring the effects of prescribed fire.
