Carlo Carraro is a professor of Environmental Economics at Ca’ Foscari University of Venice. He holds a Ph.D. from Princeton University. He was President of the University of Venice from 2009 to 2014 and Director of the Department of Economics from 2005 to 2008. In 2008, he was elected Vice-Chair of the Working Group III and Member of the Bureau of the Nobel Laureate Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC). In 2015, he was re-elected for a second term. He worked as an IPCC Lead Author since 1995. Professor Carraro is the Scientific Director of the Fondazione Eni Enrico Mattei, Executive Board Member of the Euro Mediterranean Centre for Climate Change (CMCC), and Director of the International Centre for Climate Governance (ICCG). He is also President Elect of the European Association of Environmental and Resource Economists (EAERE), Co-Chair of the Green Growth Knowledge Platform Advisory Committee and the Editor of the Review of Environmental Economics and Policy, the most important international journal in its field.
