Carlos B. Rueda Diez holds a PhD in Molecular Biology and a MS in Molecular Biomedicine from Universidad Autonoma de Madrid. He is currently a Postdoctoral researcher at Columbia University, in New York City, where his research is focused in uncovering the molecular mechanisms of Glut1 deficiency, a pediatric neurodegenerative disease. His research interests are mitochondria, neurobiology and metabolism. Carlos is involved in scientific teaching and volunteers for educative purposes and is also interested in scientific divulgation, in order to bring research advances to public awareness.
