Carole Fungaroli Sargent is the Director of Scholarly Publications at Georgetown University, a position she accepted in 2006 after having taught eighteenth-century English literature in Georgetown’s English Department since 1997. Her research focus is women of the late seventeenth and early eighteenth centuries who published about politics, war, and state affairs with an international impact. She earned a Ph.D. in eighteenth-century English literature at the University of Virginia, and she is the author of two books with Farrar, Straus & Giroux that received national publicity, including The New York Times, Newsweek, NPR, CNN and “60 Minutes.” She lives in Georgetown.
