About

I am an economics Ph.D. student at the University of California, Berkeley. My work has an applied focus that uses sophisticated statistical analyses to translate economic theory into testable hypotheses. I have received fellowships in recognition of my research abilities. While my primary fields are industrial organization, political economy, and law and economics, I have also worked with intellectual property, health, energy, and environmental issues. This intellectual breadth is complemented by my experiences working in a regulatory agency, a think tank, academia, and the private sector. My broad background allows me to learn quickly and confront a wide array of issues. I have also been recognized nationally for my leadership accomplishments. The recruitment strategy that I devised for my fraternity was adopted by our international chapter. As treasurer, I identified and pursued new fundraising opportunities that moved our budget from red to black. My teaching experience has developed my ability to communicate complex ideas to non-expert audiences and to place them within a broader context. I enjoy politics, hiking, hunting, fishing, and college hockey, lacrosse, and football.
