Charles Hampton, a student in the nuclear medical technology program at Long Island University Brooklyn, has served as a member of the Home Depot team in Staten Island, New York, since May 2014. In addition to handling and ringing up customer purchases as a cashier, he is tasked with assisting shoppers with any issues or queries they may have. Management also expects every member of the Home Depot team to treat customers and fellow employees with fairness and kindness. Prior to working as a cashier at Home Depot, Charles Hampton spent time as an overnight employee for a Target store on Staten Island.
When he is not working or studying, Mr. Hampton raises money for families in need during the holiday season as a contributor to Toys for Tots. During his high school years he assisted special needs students competing in the Special Olympics. He also enjoys drawing, with his interests ranging from landscapes to cartoons.
