Chris Freeland is an Associate University Librarian, Washington University Libraries at Washington University in St. Louis. Mr. Freeland is the Founding Director of the Center for Biodiversity Informatics at the Missouri Botanical Garden and the Founding Technical Director of the Biodiversity Heritage Library. Mr. Freeland has an M.S. in Biological Sciences from Eastern Illinois University and has worked as a technologist in scientific organizations and libraries for more than 15 years. He has been a project manager for several large informatics and academic computing projects, including the development of the Tropicos botanical information system, online at www.tropicos.org, and the BHL, online at www.biodiversitylibrary.org.
