About

Christian E. Galarza has completed his M.Sc.'s program in March 2015 under the guidance of Professor Víctor H. Lachos in the Department of Statistics at State University of Campinas - Brazil (UNICAMP). Now, he is a Ph.D. student in the same institution. He completed his Bachelor's degree in Informatic Statistics in the Deparment of Mathematics at "Escuela Superior Politécnica del Litoral" (ESPOL) in Ecuador. Christian worked as a full time teacher at ESPOL. He has won the 2015 IASI (Inter-American Statistical Institute) for Excellence award for his work entitled "Likelihood based inference in quantile regression for nonlinear mixed-effects models". His Statistical interests areas are quantile regression, linear/nonlinear mixed-effects models, EM and SAEM algorithms, zero-quantile distributions, scale mixture of skew normal distributions and censored models.
