About

My interests lie primarily in physics-based animation and computational fluid dynamics, and my current research is focused on developing robust and efficient techniques for the animation of thin fluids. I did my PhD at UBC under Robert Bridson on fluid animation, and was a postdoc at Columbia with Eitan Grinspun for 3 years. Before entering grad school I spent two years at Frantic Films VFX (now Prime Focus VFX) developing physics animation tools for artists, during which time I was credited on the film Superman Returns. I have also consulted for Exocortex Technologies on fluid simulation, and interned at both Intel and Weta Digital.
